Governor Samuel Ortom To Be Impeached By Eight Lawmakers
Some members of the Benue State House of Assembly on Monday have moved to impeach the state Governor, Samuel Ortom.
The eight lawmakers belonging to the All Progressives Congress (out of 30) earlier served an impeachment notice on the governor according to reports by Channels TV.
Police Take Over Benue State House Of Assembly
Heavily armed security operatives have have besieged the Benue State house of Assembly, blocking the entrance into the complex and preventing workers from gaining entrance, Naija News learnt.
The reason for the presence of the armed security team is still unfolding but reports from several sources have it that the action is part of moves to reinstate the sacked Speaker, Rt Hon Terkimbi Ikyange, as well as impeach Samuel Ortom as governor of Benue state.

He also stated that he was the one who had nominated Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as Buhari’s vice before the 2015 elections.
APC Dissolves State Executive In Kwara State
The State Executive of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State has been dissolved by the National Working Committee of the Party.
This development is in consonant with the agreement by the party, signed by the National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, and its National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni on Monday in Abuja after the NWC meeting.
Atiku Describes Impeachment Process Against Ortom As “Awkward”
Atiku Abubakar, the Former Vice President, has described as political awkward the purported service of impeachment notice on Benue Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom, by eight members of the House of Assembly.
The PDP aspirant stated that anarchy and lawlessness would become the order of the day if there are any attempt to disregard the rule of law and the Constitution in the impeachment of a governor.
Imo State Assembly Impeach Deputy Governor
Imo state deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere has been impeached.
The impeachment came after Nineteen of the 27 lawmakers in the assembly voted in favour of the cause at plenary on Monday.
