1. Osinbajo Gives Update On 2nd Niger Bridge (Video/Photos)

Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government will complete the second Niger Bridge on schedule. Naija News reports that Osinbajo gave the assurance to the people of South East and South-South geopolitical zones during a one-day visit to Anambra State to launch the second phase of TraderMoni, a federal government micro-credit scheme for petty traders.

2. JAMB: Why We Are Yet To Release Result Of UTME 2019 – Spokesman

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has given further explanation on why it is yet to release the result of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. Dr Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesman, disclosed on Saturday, that they had to take all necessary steps and precautions before releasing the results.

3. Why Buhari Shut Out Kitchen Cabinet Members Over Ministerial Appointments

Ahead of his inauguration for a second term on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari has kept members of his kitchen cabinet, close associates and outgoing ministers in suspense with regard to those who will be in his new team. The President has opted to go solo in choosing the new set of ministers.

4. Police ‘Transfer’ Yomi Shogunle To Nkalagu In Ebonyi

Abayomi Shogunle, a controversial officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has reportedly been transferred from Lagos state, Nigeria’s commercial city, to Nkalagu in Ebonyi State, south-east Nigeria. Though it is unclear why Shogunle was transferred, Naija News, however, understands that the transfer might not be unconnected with his stance towards Nigerians’ complaints about Police brutality and the misbehaviour of some officers in the country.

5. Why Buhari Should Be Barred From Foreign Trips – Falana

Human rights and constitutional lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has called for the banning of public officials from foreign trips until the insecurity in the country is resolved. President Muhammadu Buhari is currently on a 10-day private visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

6. National Assembly: Why Ahmed Lawan Is Giving Saraki, Dogara Headache

The leadership of the current National Assembly may be sounding tough, but beneath their tough utterances are fear and trepidation over the fate that could befall them after May 29 when they would have vacated their seats. Their main headache is Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate Majority Leader who has been adopted as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari in the jostle for the seat of the Senate President in the 9th National Assembly.

7. Army Reveals Those Behind Insecurity In Nigeria

The Nigerian Army has today revealed all those behind the insecurity in the country. Through its Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, the army alleged that some unpatriotic individuals, groups and foreign interests were working against the security situation in the country in particular and West African Sub-region in general.

8. Afenifere Breaks Silence On Atiku’s Nationality

The Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere has today reacted to claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate was a Cameroonian and not a Nigerian. Speaking with newsmen today, the group’s spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin described the claim by the ruling APC as nonsense and an attempt to mislead people.

9. 16 Dead, Others Injured In Kano Auto Crash

At least 16 persons have been confirmed dead while several others have been left with various degrees of injuries when three vehicles on Friday evening, collided at Tukai Village in Dambatta Local Government Area in Kano State. Naija News reports that the accident occurred at about 7.30 p.m and involved three vehicles; a Honda Accord, Peugeot 406 and a Volkswagen Golf car when they collided from the opposite directions.

10. EPL: Bournemouth Defeats Tottenham To Blow Up Top Four Race Again

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham were handed a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday which further derailed their Premier League’s top four ambition. The game looked set to finish in a 0-0 draw but Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake had other plans, as he netted in the stoppage time of the game to give all three points to Bournemouth.
