Buhari Sets To Signs 2018 Budget Today

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to sign the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law latest today after an hectic honorarium Celebration of Late MKO Abiola, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe and late Chief Gani Fawehinmi ,Naija News Understands

According to report gathered by THISDAY ,the president would have signed the bill  yesterday, to bring to a close several months of delay in the promulgation of the nation’s financial estimates but the June 12 activities couldn’t allow.

Why Jailed Dariye’s Appeal For Mercy Was Rejected (Details)

Mr Joshua Dariye, a serving senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, was accused of embezzling N1.162 billion ecological funds belonging to his state.

He was charged to court by anti-graft agency, EFCC, in 2007.
The trial which stalled for over eight years following Mr Dariye’s protracted attempt to prevent his prosecution continued after the Supreme Court ordered the senator to proceed with his case in 2015.

Trump Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize After Singapore Summit

 

President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by two Norwegian lawmakers after the Singapore summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Lawmakers with the populist Progress Party, Christian Tybring-Gjedde and Per-Willy Amundsen, on Wednesday, disclosed to Norwegian news agency NTB, that Trump “had taken a huge and important step in the direction of the disarmament, peace and reconciliation between North and South Korea.”

Stop Threatening Anti-Corruption War By Persecuting Whistle-Blowers – NGO

 

Chido Onumah, Coordinator, African Centre for Media and Information Literacy (AFRICMIL), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), yesterday said the act of persecuting whistle blowers is a threat to the anti-corruption war.

He also stated that the act of victimizing whistleblowers is threatening their effectiveness and may truncate the original intent of the policy which was introduced by the government to fight corruption in Nigeria.

Olusegun Mimiko Resigns From PDP

Olusegun Mimiko, the immediate past Governor of Ondo State, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Stating that he was leaving for personal reasons, Mimiko, made his declaration in a letter to the PDP Chairman, Ondo West Local Government Area.

Court Orders Sack Of Senator Aidoko

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the sack of senator Atai Aidoko, as the member representing Kogi East with immediate effect.

The court ruled that Mr Aidoko was wrongly presented as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the December 2014 Primaries conducted by the PDP.
