Naija News learnt that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, confirmed receiving the budget from the National Assembly.
Enang, in a statement said, “I have this evening received the 2018 appropriations bill for onward transmission to the President as soon as possible.
“Since the appropriation bill has been received, what is left is for it to be transmitted immediately to the President.”
, Senator Enang also said that the president would to scrutinise the budget before signing into Law .
Senate President Bukola Saraki had told State House correspondents on Thursday that the budget, which was passed by the National Assembly on Wednesday last week, would be forwarded to the President today (Friday).
Dr Saraki, who led members of the legislature to the break the day’s fast with President Buhari, had explained that the delay in transmitting the Appropriation Bill to the executive was because both houses of the National Assembly were harmonising their versions.
