My Colleagues Pushed Me To BBNaija – Says Saga

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Adeoluwa Okusaga, popularly known as Saga, has revealed that his decision to participate in the reality show was a deliberate move to kick-start his career in entertainment.

Naija News reports that Saga, who is a trained engineer, disclosed that he auditioned for the show after persistent encouragement from his colleagues, who believed he had what it takes to shine on a national stage.

Speaking during a recent interview with Channels Television, the reality star said joining Big Brother Naija was a calculated career move.

“I went to Big Brother Naija to launch my career as an entertainer. I am an engineer,” he said.

“My colleagues at work begged me to go for Big Brother Nigeria; they said I would do well.”

Saga explained that the encouragement from his workplace gave him the confidence to pursue what had always been a hidden passion for the arts and performance.

The actor further argued that engineering and entertainment share similar foundations, particularly in the area of creativity and imagination.

“As an engineer, you have to have a powerful imagination, understanding, and skill,” he stated.

He added, “A lot of artists like Davinci ended up as engineers because it’s a parallel.”

According to him, the analytical and imaginative skills required in engineering can easily be transferred to acting and other creative pursuits.

Saga participated in Season 6 of the BBNaija in 2021, where he gained popularity for his calm personality and on-screen relationship dynamics.

He was evicted in the ninth week of the competition.

Since leaving the show, Saga has transitioned into acting and has featured in over a dozen movies, steadily carving a niche for himself in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The former housemate maintains that his appearance on the reality show was the launchpad he needed to establish himself as an entertainer, proving that career transitions are possible with the right mindset and opportunity.
