Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich Track Super Eagles’ Prospect Emmanuel Fernandez

Europe’s transfer heavyweights are circling Glasgow after an impressive campaign by Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez placed him firmly on their radar.

Reports in Scotland suggest both Arsenal and Chelsea FC have been keeping a close watch on the 24-year-old centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window. German champions Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring his progress.

Fernandez only arrived at Rangers FC last summer from Peterborough United for a fee reported to be just under three million euros. At the time, few could have predicted the impact he would make in such a short space of time.

The Nigeria-eligible defender has grown into one of the Scottish Premiership’s most reliable performers. He is calm under pressure and dominant in the air.

A run of commanding displays earned him the club’s Player of the Month award in January and quietly transformed him into one of the league’s standout defenders.

Rangers are understood to have no intention of parting ways with him cheaply. Club insiders believe his valuation has already climbed beyond £10 million, a significant rise from the figure they paid less than a year ago. That number could swell further if the Ibrox side finish the campaign strongly and secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

No formal bids have been submitted yet, but with scouts from across Europe regularly spotted at Rangers fixtures, interest is expected to intensify as the season draws to a close.

Fernandez’s rise has not gone unnoticed beyond club football. The London-born defender was eligible to represent England but has pledged his international future to Nigeria and is eager to pull on the green and white of the Super Eagles.

The decision has reportedly attracted the attention of Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, who is said to be assessing options ahead of upcoming friendlies.
