Arteta Downplays Rosenior Complaint Over Arsenal Staff Conduct Before Match
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has brushed aside concerns raised by Liam Rosenior over the conduct of Arsenal’s coaching staff, insisting the matter has been resolved and describing such incidents as part of the modern game.
Rosenior had accused members of Arsenal’s backroom team of entering his side’s technical area during pre match warm ups, calling the move disrespectful and a distraction for his players. He later aired his frustration publicly, sparking discussion around touchline behaviour and professional etiquette in football.
Speaking on Friday, Arteta confirmed the club had already addressed the issue and offered an apology.
“We apologise and that’s it,” Arteta said. “It’s very common in football.”
The Arsenal boss played down the significance of the episode, suggesting that minor flashpoints between staff are not unusual in high pressure match environments. He indicated there was no desire from the club to prolong the matter or turn it into a wider dispute.
Rosenior, while clearly irritated by the incident, was careful to separate his criticism from Arsenal’s playing squad, stressing that his concern was limited to the actions of certain staff members rather than the players themselves.
The situation has renewed debate about boundaries during warm ups, respect between rival teams and the standards expected of coaching personnel on match days.
Arteta, however, made it clear Arsenal intend to move forward quickly, shifting attention back to their upcoming fixtures and on field priorities.
