Hanifa Abubakar: Angry Kano Youths Burn Down School

Noble Kids Academy located in Kawaji, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano state has been burnt down on Monday by some angry youths.

This follows last week’s discovery that the proprietor of the school, Abdulmalik Tanko kidnapped and later killed five-year-old Hanifa Abubakar who was a pupil of the school before her life was cut short.

Naija News recalls the girl was kidnapped last year and her abductors demanded N6million as ransom for her release.

Following weeks of investigations, Tanko, the proprietor of the school the girl attended was arrested for abducting and killing the girl.

Tanko had told newsmen during the parade of the suspects involved in the girl’s kidnap and murder that he killed Hanifa with rat poison after he discovered she had recognized his face.

The discovery sparked angry reactions from Nigerians with the Kano State government ordering the school to be shut down immediately until further notice.

However, the anger of the residents has not been appeased over the development as the youths stormed the school in the early hours of Monday and set it on fire.

In other news, gunmen suspected to be terrorists have killed two people at Okeluse Community in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the armed men in the attack killed an owner of a petrol station in the community and his attendant.

An eyewitness claimed that the gunmen invaded the community around 6 pm on Sunday and shot the deceased.

A resident of the community who spoke with Punch described the killers of the deceased as Fulani herdsmen who have allegedly been terrorizing the local government.

The development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami.
