Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie has called for the release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Naija News reports that the federal government of Nigeria recently confirmed the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader.

According to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) on Tuesday, Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Rita who has never hidden her support for the secessionist group called for the release of the group’s leader.

According to her, the igbos can not be third class citizens in their own land, urging that the Nigerian government allow the igbos go. 

She wrote; ”FREE MAZI NNAMDI KANU NOW YO AVOID HAD I KNOW. ALLOW US TO GO. WE NEED BIAFRA. WE CAN’T KEEP BEING THIRD CLASS CITIZENS IN OUR OWN LAND”

Meanwhile, Rita Edochie has declared that the dream of an independent nation of Biafra will happen, but it’s just a matter of time.

She added that she believes Biafra will emerge as one of the best countries of the world under the leadership of arrested Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The actress expressed her view via a post on her Instagram account in which she made reference to Obi Cubana’s lavish funeral for his mum.

According to her, the support Obi Cubana got for his mother’s burial is a testimony of the good nature of the Igbos and a sign that Biafra will be a blessed nation.
