APC Knocks Obaseki, PDP Over New Appointments

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has tested negative for the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was made known in a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie.

Osagie stated that the result is that of the rapid diagnostic test, while the governor awaits the result of the PCR test.

“I can confirm that the governor tested negative for coronavirus when he ran the rapid diagnostic test for the virus. However, we are currently awaiting the result of more conclusive PCR test.”

“In the meantime, the governor has decided to continue to work in self-solation and he is asymptomatic,” the statement reads.

Recall that Governor Obaseki had gone into self-isolation few hours after the speaker of the Edo House Assembly tested positive to COVID-19.

Naija News learnt Obaseki took the bold step following his close contact with the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who have both tested positive for coronavirus.
