Afcon 2019: Buhari Reacts To Super Eagles Victory

Presidency denies sending ministerial list to National Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for making progress in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-2 in Alexandria.

A brace from Odion Ighalo and a strike from Alex Iwobi gave Nigerian the victory.

Reacting in a statement sent to Naija News by his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, Buhari commended the hard work, team spirit and sportsmanship Nigeria have exhibited in the tournament.

President Buhari noted that hard work and team spirit are good signs for a team destined to excel.

He urged the Super Eagles and their coaches to remain focused and determined, assuring them of the fervent prayers and support of all Nigerians.
