The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, may be breathing easily now as President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have moved to quell plots to sack him.

According to sources members of the ruling party who wanted the former Edo state governor removed as National Chairman has sheathed their swords.

This, Vanguard learnt, was because Oshiomhole still enjoins the backing of Buhari and Tinubu despite numerous defeat at the just concluded general election.

“So long as the two men who brought him to power are still backing him, Oshiomhole is going nowhere, mark my words on that.

“You can see that Shuaibu (APC deputy national chairman north) is on his own and that is why they didn’t invite him to yesterday’s National Working Committee, NWC meeting,” the source said.

“Oyegun started fighting Asiwaju who brought him to the office and when push came to shove, he could not survive because he had no strong backbone behind him, but that is not the case at this point.”

Despite the call for Oshiomhole’s removal by top party members, which include, Shuaibu, former National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu amongst others, the ex-Labour leader seems not to be going anywhere.

Naija News recalls that 28 state chairmen recently passed a vote of confidence on Adams Oshiomhole to continue to lead the party.
