1. Former Governor Of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi Is Dead

The immediate past governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has died aged 70.

The late governor had been battling for his life for several weeks, he had been in coma and on life support for some days after a botched surgery passed which eventually led to his death at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi.

2. NCDC Reports 594 New Cases Of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported five hundred and ninety-four new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

The new figures were confirmed by the health agency on Thursday night in a series of tweets via its verified account on the microblogging site, Twitter. The new development brings the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria to 22614. As at the time this report was given, 7822 persons have been discharged from the novel virus after testing negative, while 549 people reportedly died.

3. President Buhari Dissolves APC National Working Committee

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday called for the dissolution of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The president made the call in his opening speech at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party.

4. Atiku Shades APC, Says A Party Without Law And Order Can’t Sustain Democracy In Nigeria

Former Vice President and 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has released a statement that appears to be a swipe against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku in a series of tweets on Thursday afternoon said only a party with law, order, discipline, and constitutionality can provide the true democracy Nigeria needs.

5. APC NEC Ratifies Ize-Iyamu As Edo Gov’ship Candidate

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the governorship primary in Edo State which produced Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as its governorship candidate.

Naija News reports that President Muhammadu Buhari also directed all party members to discontinue all ongoing litigations as they affect the party.

6. Ghanaian Govt Promises To Rebuild Nigerian Embassy Staff Quarters

The Ghanaian government has promised to rebuild Nigerian High Commission building demolished a few days ago, adding that it will actively engage the government of the ‘Giant of Africa’ at the highest level, address the impasse and help calm risen tensions in both countries.

The government revealed Police Service, National Security, and as well Lands Commission had been inaugurated to commence an investigation into the unlawful demolition of the Nigerian building.

7. Governor Obaseki Emerges PDP Governorship Candidate For Edo 2020

The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Edo 2020 election.

Naija News reports that Obaseki emerged the PDP governorship candidate for Edo 2020 after his only rival in the PDP primary election, Ken Imasuagbon, stepped down for the Edo Governor to return unopposed.

8. President Buhari Recommends Usman Bello For Appointment As ICC Judge

The Chief Judge of the federal capital territory (FCT) high court, Ishaq Usman Bello has been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for appointment at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Bello has over 35 years of experience as a legal practitioner, and has handled huge special responsibilities under the judiciary including; chairing election petition tribunals, representing Nigeria and leading judges to attend conferences, symposiums, and seminars around the world.

9. Dissolved APC NWC Threatens To Drag Buhari-led NEC To Court

Hilliard Eta-led National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has kicked against its dissolution by President Muhammadu Buhari-led National Executive Committee (NEC).

Naija News reports that President Buhari on Thursday called for the dissolution of the National Working Committee of the APC.

10. Police Unseal APC National Secretariat After NWC Dissolution

The men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have unsealed the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
