Arteta: Why I May Return To Arsenal - Cazorla

Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has stated that he would love to return to the Gunners to help newly appointed manager, Mikel Arteta.

Naija News reports that ex-Manchester City assistant manager, Mikel Arteta, was on Friday appointed as the new head coach of Arsenal

Arteta, who is a former Arsenal player, was given a three-and-a-half-year deal at the North London club.

The development means Arteta leaves his role as Manchester City assistant manager and replaces Freddie Ljungberg who handled the club after the sacking Unai Emery.

Cazorla, who plays for Villareal in the La Liga, spent six years with Arsenal before leaving in 2018, after making 180 appearances for the Gunners.

The Spanish international said he would welcome the opportunity to return to Arsenal at some stage to work alongside Arteta.

When asked if he could become the latest former Arsenal player to return to the club, following Arteta’s appointment as the club’s new manager, Cazorla was quoted by Football London as saying: “In the future, who knows? I will certainly have to work out what I want to be doing and it is right to say that we have a great relationship and many times we have talked about what the future will bring us.

“I will always be open to helping him [Arteta] because he is my friend and also because of all the things he did for me when I came to England.”
