Ange Postecoglou Appointed Al-Nassr Head Coach

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou has returned to management after being named the new head coach of Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr on a two-year contract.

The club confirmed the appointment earlier today, July 3, posting: “It’s official: Mr Ange Postecoglou is the new Head Coach of @AlNassrFC. He signed a contract for 2 seasons. Welcome, Gaffer!”

The 60-year-old Australian football coach takes charge of a side captained by Portuguese icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, replacing Jorge Jesus, who stepped down after leading Al-Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title last season.

Postecoglou has been out of a coaching job for the past nine months following the end of his spell at Tottenham Hotspur, where he guided the club to Europa League success before his departure in May 2025. He later had a brief stint with Nottingham Forest.

His move to Saudi Arabia comes just days after he was linked with the Scotland national team job following speculation over Steve Clarke’s future. However, reports suggested his salary demands made a deal unlikely.

The former Celtic manager now begins a fresh chapter in the Middle East, adding another high-profile role to a coaching career that has included successful spells with Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic.
