Rashford Challenges England To Overwhelm Ghana In World Cup Clash

Marcus Rashford has urged England to turn up the intensity against Ghana as Thomas Tuchel’s side seek to secure a place in the World Cup knockout stages with a match to spare.

England made a flying start to their Group L campaign with a 4-2 win over Croatia in Dallas. Harry Kane scored twice during a frantic opening period before the Three Lions took complete control after the break.

Jude Bellingham found the net moments into the second half as England piled pressure on Croatia, while substitute Rashford added the finishing touch to a performance that has boosted confidence within the squad.

With Ghana next on the agenda, Rashford believes England must maintain the same aggressive approach that powered them to victory in their opening fixture.

“I think we have to bring an intensity that they can’t live with and we try and stick to that,” the forward told the Football Association.

“If we can play at that level, it can win you games.

“The one thing we can predict is how we conduct ourselves over 90 minutes or 120 minutes.

“So, I think we just have to focus on that as players. We just have to keep pushing ourselves. We’re definitely capable.”

Naija News gathered that the England vs Ghana World Cup clash will kick off at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23.
