Raphinha Hat-Trick Fires Barcelona Past Sevilla
Barcelona cruised to a 5-2 win over Sevilla at Spotify Camp Nou, with Raphinha stealing the show with a stunning hat-trick.
The Brazilian opened the scoring in the ninth minute from the penalty spot after Joao Cancelo was fouled by Djibril Sow. Twelve minutes later, VAR awarded another penalty for a handball by Jose Angel Carmona, and Raphinha calmly slotted home his second. Dani Olmo then made it 3-0 with a crisp first-time finish from 16 yards.
Sevilla briefly threatened just before half-time as Oso, netting his first senior goal, volleyed home from Juanlu Sánchez’s cross, reducing the deficit to 3-1.
Barcelona, however, never looked in danger. Raphinha completed his hat-trick six minutes after the restart when his shot deflected off Nemanja Gudelj into the top corner.
Cancelo added a solo effort on the hour mark, racing from halfway to beat the keeper. Djibril Sow scored a late header from Oso’s cross to make it 5-2, giving Sevilla a small consolation.
The win keeps Barcelona four points clear of Real Madrid with 10 matches remaining, while Sevilla sit 14th, just five points above the relegation zone.
Raphinha was substituted in the 82nd minute for Gavi, who returned from a serious knee injury to a standing ovation. Lamine Yamal also featured as a second-half substitute.
Barcelona now turn their attention to the Champions League, hosting Newcastle in the second leg on Wednesday, after a 1-1 draw in England in the first leg.
