Ryan Alebiosu Dismisses Transfer Talk, Jonathan Okoronkwo Gets New Club

Ryan Alebiosu has played down speculation linking him with a move away from Blackburn Rovers, insisting his focus remains firmly on helping the Championship side this season.

The Nigerian international has recently been associated with Premier League club Everton and Serie A outfit Genoa, but the defender appears unconcerned by the rumours.

Ryan Alebiosu only arrived at Ewood Park last summer from Belgian side Kortrijk and has quickly grown into a key figure for Rovers, establishing himself as a regular in the squad.

His steady club form also earned him a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, although injury restricted him to just one appearance at the tournament.

Speaking about his future, the 24-year-old made it clear that a January exit is not on his agenda.

“I have heard a few things but my mind isn’t on that. I am focused on getting as fit as possible and helping the team,” Alebiosu told Rovers Extra.

“Everything out there is not what I am looking at. I expect to be here, 100%.”

Meanwhile, Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Jonathan Okoronkwo on a contract that runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.

The 22-year-old joins the club from fellow Turkish outfit Hatayspor as Sivasspor continue to strengthen their attacking options.

Okoronkwo has built an impressive résumé at a young age, featuring in 80 official matches across his career and scoring 23 goals. His journey has included spells with Botev Plovdiv, Krasnodar and Arsenal Tula, giving him experience across multiple European leagues.

One of the standout moments of his career came in the 2023/24 season, when he finished as the Russian First League’s top scorer with 17 goals.
