Portuguese professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly told Saudi Arabia Pro League club, Al-Nassr, that he wants to renew his contract until 2027.

Recall that Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022. The 38-year-old has continued to make strides in the Saudi Arabia Pro League after registering 25 goals and eight assists in 30 games.

Naija News reports that Ronaldo currently holds the captain badge for Al Nassr, with the club currently sitting third in the league behind Al Taawoun and Neymar’s Al Hilal.

Football journalist, Ali Al-Harbi, revealed in a publication on Monday that the striker has told Al Nassr management about his wish to remain with the club until 2027.

“Cristiano Ronaldo informed the management of the Saudi club before travelling to the Portuguese national team camp that he wants to renew his contract until the beginning of 2027. Cristiano wants to play the 2026 World Cup while he is a player for Al-Nassr Club, and then he will announce his retirement from football,” Al-Harbi noted in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

This news platform understands that playing at the World Cup will take Ronaldo to 41 years old, an incredible feat even for such an athlete as the legendary striker.

Recall that the 2026 tournament is due to be held in the United States of America, Mexico and Canada. Ronaldo was benched at the previous World Cup for PSG’s Concalo Ramos and watched his side knocked out by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
