Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte has joined French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain for almost 60 million euros.

The 22-year-old Uruguayan international signed a five-year deal with the French Ligue 1 giants which will keep him at Parc des Princes until June 30, 2028.

Earlier, Manuel Ugarte was reportedly considering a move to Premier League clubs – Chelsea, Tottenham, or Liverpool but PSG’s offer made more sense to the Uruguayan star.

Ugarte who has played eight times for Uruguay’s national team is the third player that joined PSG after the arrival of manager Luis Enrique on July 5.

The Ligue 1 winners signed Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio as free agents after they parted ties with Real Madrid and Inter Milan, respectively.

“I am sincerely very happy to be able to make this big step in my career, at such a huge club. I will give everything for PSG,” Ugarte said.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that Liverpool have made an unbelievable €200 million offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Kylian Mbappe.

Reports in England claimed that the Premier League giants want to beat Real Madrid in the race to sign the Frenchman.

Mbappe’s future at Parc Des Princes is uncertain because PSG president Nasser Al-Khalifi has mandated the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner to extend his stay at the club this month or risk being sold.

But Mbappe doesn’t want to leave PSG and doesn’t want to extend his stay at the club as his current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2024.

Given this update, Liverpool are attempting to convince the 24-year-old to sign with the Anfield club this summer.
