Ten Corpses Found Hours After Gunmen Attack Kaduna Community
At least 10 corpses have been recovered after suspected bandits attacked Unguwar Wakili community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Naija News reports that the Special Assistant on Media to the Executive Chairman, Zangon Kataf LGA, Yabo Chris Ephraim, made this known in statement on Saturday
He also disclosed that the Chairman has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Ungwan Juju, Mabuhu, Ungwan Wakili and Zangon Urban communities with immediate effect.
Ephraim stated that the curfew is to allow men of the Nigerian Army to restore peace to the affected communities.
Police Rescue 14 Kidnap Victims In Zamfara
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Zamfara State have rescued no fewer than 14 kidnap victims after spending over two months in a bandits‘ den.
Naija News understands that the victims, including five children below of age of 2 years were abducted in the Anguwar Mangoro and Gidan Maidawa villages of Zamfara State in January 2023.
Speaking on the rescue mission, the spokesman of the Zamfara Police Command, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the victims were rescued after police operatives in conjunction with the vigilante while on a mop-up operation near Munhaye forest, successfully dislodged some bandits camp belonging to one recalcitrant bandit Kingpin AKA Dogo Sule.
“As a result of the operation, fourteen ( 14) Hostages Comprising of two (2) Male adults, Seven (7) Females, and Five (5) Children below of age of 2 years were rescued.
“In the course of debriefing, the victims informed the Police detectives that, on 1st January 2023 at about 2300hrs, a large number of suspected bandits armed with sophisticated weapons stormed Anguwar Mangoro and Gidan Maidawa villages in Gusau LGA and abducted them to their camp where they spent 68 days in captivity,” the police mouthpiece noted.
