Arsenal has reportedly held ‘positive talks’ with Shakhtar Donetsk winger, Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Despite looking into the Ukrainian’s availability in the past, the club ultimately opted against bringing him to the Emirates, owing, in part, to his £45 million price tag.

Fabrizio Romano, however, has provided a positive update for Arsenal supporters, stating the 21-year-old may be close to moving to North London in the coming months.

On his YouTube channel, the Italian Journalist remarked, “We know they [Arsenal] wanted a winger, Rafinha was the dream, but it was not possible to proceed,

“They have had very positive contacts with Mudryk on the player’s side, but then they decided not to proceed with Shakhtar because they wanted more than £40m to £45m.”

Naija News previously reported that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, would get funds from Arsenal management to purchase players to bolster the Gunners’ squad to make them a strong title contender after the winter window.

However, many players have been linked to the club, and they seem to be in search of a new winger after failing to price Raphinha from Leeds and being linked to Pedro Neto this summer.

According to reports, Shakhtar now seems to be seeking more for their potential young talent, and the journalist claims they may want more than £60 million for him.

This season, Mudryk has made 14 appearances for Shakhtar and scored seven goals, including three in the Champions League.
