Two people were reportedly killed on Tuesday night by suspected herdsmen in a renewed attack on another community of the Makurdi local government area of Benue State.

A native of the community, Terungwa Akor told our correspondent that the attackers stormed the community last night killing people while three others are still missing.

The Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on security, Lt Col. Paul Hemba retd, confirmed the incident.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene denied knowledge about the killing but said, she was going to find out from her men in the area.

Meanwhile, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ademola Olusegun Popoola has died.

Oyekunle Oyetunji the media adviser to Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, confirmed the passing of Popoola on Wednesday.

Popoola who was said to have suffered from kidney-related disease died in the early hours of Wednesday morning

It was gathered that he died at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.

The lawmaker was elected in 2019 to represent the area on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He died at the age of 46.
