Oyo Lawmaker, Olusegun Popoola Is Dead

A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ademola Olusegun Popoola has died.

Oyekunle Oyetunji the media adviser to Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, confirmed the passing of Popoola on Wednesday.

Popoola who was said to have suffered from kidney-related disease died in the early hours of Wednesday morning

It was gathered that he died at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.

The lawmaker was elected in 2019 to represent the area on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He died at the age of 46.

Popoola was the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

Meanwhile, an All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant, Kelvin Ugboajah, who contested for Abia State central district in the just-concluded National Assembly primary elections, has been confirmed dead.

Ugboajah died on Monday morning, 11th July 2022, after an undisclosed ailment.

The family of the late Ugboajah of the Ariam Usaka Oboro clan in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of the State officially announced his demise on Tuesday in a statement to journalists.

In his condolence message issued to newsmen in Umuahi, the Abia state capital, the Action Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate for Abia State’s Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency seat in the 2023 general election, Paul Meregini, expressed sadness over the incident. Read more
