Looters Break Into Warehouse, Roll Away Tractors, Irrigation Machines In Yola

Some hoodlums reportedly broke into a warehouse in Adamawa State and drove away some farm machinery amidst curfew imposed by the governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration.

Naija News learnt that the yet to be captured looters invaded some private businesses, agricultural storage facilities and government offices in the state and do away with items of their choice.

It could be recalled that some Irate youths on Sunday, October 25 attacked the state government warehouse and cart away foodstuff and other items.

Reports reaching Naija News a few hours after the government house looting confirmed that the hoodlums again attacked several agricultural warehouses owned by farmers associations and went away with tractors, irrigation machines, fertilizer, seedlings and various types of implements.

Naija News learnt that the NECAS warehouse in Kofare Industrial Area in Yola metropolis was attacked by the hoodlums and several brand new tractors were rolled away.

It was reported that the looters were seen moving around the streets with the new tractors and other types of agricultural machines they looted from the warehouses.

According to reports police and other security operatives restrained from the scenes while the looters carried out the operation in jubilation. Naija News gathered also that PZ and A.D. Basharu warehouses both owned by private businesses were also looted.

The council chairman of Numan Local Government, Innocent Koto alongside some officials were said to have visited the affected facilities to assess the level of damage done by the hoodlums.

The State Police Public Relations, however, could not be reached for further confirmation as at the time the report was given.

Meanwhile, some residents of Abuja, the nation’s capital on Monday raided a COVID-19 palliatives warehouse located in Gwagwalada, looting several items.

Naija News gathered that several food items including bags of rice, cartons of noodles, cartons of milk, and tin tomatoes were carted away.
