Oshiomhole Speaks On Relationship With Obaseki

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has vowed to prosecute the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki stated this on Thursday while receiving the report of the findings of a Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the construction of the Edo Specialist Hospital and supply of equipment.

Naija News recalls that the Judicial Commission had found former Edo governor, Adams Oshiomhole, culpable of an alleged breach of the state’s Public Procurement Law.

Chairman of the commission, Justice James Oyomire (rtd), alleged that the award of contract for the construction of the facility was marred with irregularities.

According to Oyomire, the Ministry of Justice is empowered to institute civil and criminal actions against those found culpable in the breach of the law.

Speaking while receiving the report, Governor Obaseki stated that anyone found culpable will give an account of their action no matter how highly placed they are.

“We have been putting the right measures in place and if there are resources of government that need to be returned back, we will not hesitate to ask for it,” he said.

“Since I came into office, you cannot find this type of breach you have mentioned. If people have to face prosecution, whether civil or criminal, they will have to be prosecuted”, Obaseki declared.
