1. Buhari Signs Bill To Change Name Of Nigerian Prison Service

A bill changing the name of the Nigerian Prison Service to Nigerian Correctional Service has been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the senior special assistant to the president on national assembly matters (senate), Ita Enang.

2. El-Zakzaky Rejects Treatment From ‘Unknown’ Doctors

Naija News understands the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shiites, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has refused to be treated by unknown doctors.

Information gathered suggest the doctors are different from those earlier put in place to treat him before his departure from Nigeria on Monday.

3. EFCC Arraigns Atiku’s Son-In-Law In Court

Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law to a former Nigerian Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Naija News understands that Mr Babalele was arraigned earlier on Wednesday before Justice Nicholas Oweibo at a Federal High Court in Lagos, on a 2 count charge of alleged money laundering of $140,000 in the build-up to the 2019 general elections.

4. Borno Offers Sambisa Forest To FG For Ruga Settlement

Borno State Government under the leadership of Governor Babagana Umara, has offered the use of the dreaded Sambisa Forest to the federal government for the controversial RUGA settlement plan.

The governor also mandated security agencies including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Agro Rangers and hunters to secure the large expanse of the forest and make it safe for the scheme.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari Visits IDP Camp In Katsina

President Muhammadu Buhari has visited Batsari Local Government Area to sympathise with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.

Batsari is one of the eight front line Local Government Areas disturbed by the activities of banditry and kidnapping in Katsina state.

6. India Hospital Agrees To El-Zakzaky’s Request

The India hospital treating the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky have agreed to treat the Nigerian Shiites leader with known and appointed doctors.

According to PRNigeria, a representative of Islamic Human Right Commission (IHRC) said the issue in contention has been resolved and that El-Zakzaky has gone ahead to receive treatment with Doctors that were earlier appointed by him.

7. Obasanjo Lists 3 Things That’ll Make Nigeria Great

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has identified three spiritual instruments that will make Nigeria great.

The former military and democratic leader stated this at the 2019 National Altar of Praise and Prayer for the Nation, entitled: ‘As in the Days of Jehoshaphat,’ taken from II Chronicles 20:22, held at Molete Baptist Church, Ibadan.

8. Soldier Accused Of Raping University Student Arraigned In Court

Lance Corporal Sunday Awolola, the soldier dismissed for allegedly raping a 300-level student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, AAUA, in Ondo State, has been arraigned in court.

Naija News reports he was arraigned on Wednesday at the Magistrate Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

9. You Are A Completely ‘Out Of Touch’ Leader – Ezekwesili Blasts Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been described as a “completely out-of-touch leader” by a former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili.

This is just as he gave a directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stop providing foreign exchange for food importation.

10. El-Zakzaky Begins Treatment In India As Doctors Identity 8 Ailments

Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), better known as Shiites, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat who arrived in India on Tuesday have started receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital.

Naija News understands that the duo arrived India on Tuesday for medical treatments in the company of some of their family members and some security operatives.
