The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, to face the charged of corruption levelled against him by the DSS and the EFCC.

The main opposition party made this known in a statement on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

Naija News reported that Oshiomhole had condemned moves by the PDP to probe its National Assembly members over the election of principal officers.

Recalls that lawmakers, across party lines, voted for Ahmed Lawan, Ovie Omo-Agege, Femi Gbajabiamila as Senate President, Deputy Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.

The PDP decided to set up a committee, led by former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, to probe the roles played by some of its members in the election of principal officers.

But speaking at the APC National Secretariat, Oshiomhole accused the PDP of embarking on illegality by setting up a panel to find out how its members voted in the election.

Reacting, the PDP advised the former Edo State governor to, instead of trying to launder his image by attacking the PDP, redeem his name by submitting himself to the DSS and EFCC to answer allegations of corruption as Edo State governor as well as alleged misconduct as the APC Chairman.

“This is a leader who had accepted that his party and the government it formed are sanctuaries of corrupt persons, when he stated, at the APC campaign rally in Edo State last year that ‘once you join the APC, your sins are forgiven,” the statement reads.

“Moreover, instead of this fixation on the PDP, Oshiomhole already has his plate full with the crisis in his home state, Edo, where he is generally believed to be responsible for political tension by trying to force himself on the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, as godfather.

“Oshiomhole needs to concentrate on the crisis rocking his party as well as the Presidency where the members of the cabal are at daggers drawn over the sharing of positions as “booty” of a rigged election.”
