1. President Buhari To Be Inaugurated For Second Term Today

President Muhammadu Buhari would be inaugurated for a second term in office today (Wednesday) as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The event holding in Abuja, the state capital, follows the election victory of Buhari who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Party (APC).

2. May 29: Full List Of Governors Set To Be Inaugurated Today

There will be a change in power in some states while some Nigerian governors will begin another term in office as from Wednesday, 29th May, 2019.

This follows the successful conduct of the 2019 general elections conducted in the country by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

3. Borno Governor’s Aide Commits Suicide

John Achagwa, the official steward to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno, has committed suicide at the Government House, Maiduguri.

Naija News gathered that the steward hanged himself in a tree at the back of the Presidential Lodge, on Tuesday afternoon.

4. Kano Emirates: Court Orders Arrest Of Sanusi’s Aides

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kano, on Tuesday, ordered the arrest of three persons including Mannir Sanusi, the Chief of Staff to the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Naija News understands that the three were dragged before the court by the Kano State Public Complainant and Anti-corruption Commission for failing to honour its invitation in a N4 billion fraud investigation against the Emir of Kano.

5. Bandits Kill 23 In Fresh Attack In Zamfara

Armed gunmen on Tuesday morning killed 23 persons in the Kabaje and Tunga communities of Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Naija News understands that the attack occurred as early as 5.00am.

6. N5bn Fraud Trial: Ex-Katsina State Governor’s Case Adjourned Till June 26th

Justice Hadiza Shagari of the Federal High Court, Katsina, on Tuesday adjourned the trial of the former Governor of the state, Ibrahim Shema, till June 26, 2019.

Naija News learnt that the presiding judge gave the order due to the absence of the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or the representatives from the state government.

7. Fresh Crisis In APC As Dep. Chairman Asks Oshiomhole To Resign

The National Deputy Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Lawali Shuaibu, has called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

This is coming after the loss of Zamfara state to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari for accusing the leadership of the National Assembly of delaying the 2019 budget.

Speaking in a Special interview on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) on Monday, the president had blamed the delay in signing 2019 budget on the leadership of the legislative arm.

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) have used and dumped Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
