Governor Samuel Ortom Bares His Mind On Second Term Ambition.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State who is vying for a second term has stressed that he would not spill the blood of any voter in order to remain in office.

He made the statement at St. Vincent De Paul Quasi Parish, Aliade, Gwer West Local Government Area (LGA) of the state during the funeral service for Late Nobel Emmanuel Ayargwer on Thursday.

While he emphasised the need for politicians in the state to avoid violence ahead of the 2019 general elections, Ortom noted that he would rather lose next year’s election than win it by violence.

He insisted it was unnecessary to spill blood for his reelection bid because power belongs to God who gives it to whoever He wills.

While acknowledging the support of the Church to sustain peace in the state, Governor Ortom requested more prayers for continued peace as the 2019 elections approaches.

He prayed God to grant the deceased whom he said lived a worthy life from the numerous testimonies about him, eternal rest and the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile Governor ortom has also appointed the first female Head of Service (HoS) of the state in the person of Mrs. Veronica Onyeke.

The indigene of Ogbadibo LGA of the state is the first female HoS since the creation of the state.
