FG. Not Behind Calls For Saraki’s Removal – Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government have denied the insinuation that it was behind the calls and fight for the removal of Senate President Bukola Saraki, as the call is entirely a party affair.

INEC Extends Deadline For Continuous Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the deadline for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by two weeks,Naija News Understands.

The extension is coming a few days after TakeItBack Movement, OurMumuDonDo Movement, as well as the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) initiative, and concerned Civil Society Organisations, met with officials of INEC to call for an extension of the deadline to enable more Nigerians participate.

The Federal High Court, Abuja, has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, to see to it that he arrest and produce the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in court on August 16.

FIFA Threatens To Suspend Nigeria And Ghana Federations For Interference

FIFA threatened today to suspend Nigeria and Ghana football federations if the interventions of the authorities of both African countries, which are considered interference in the sport, are not lifted.

With regard to Nigeria, FIFA demands that – by Monday – the President of the Nigerian Football Association (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick, “elected on 30 September 2014”, regain his powers as well as the Executive Committee.
