Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki is currently meeting with former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Naija News understands.

The meeting is coming 24 hours after the  unwarranted Siege of the National Assembly Tuesday by operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS).

Recall that the outcome of the siege was the sack of the Director-General, Alhaji Lawal Daura, a development that has elicited more calls against impunity by the DSS in the polity.

Though the exact details of the meeting are yet to unfold, close sources told PRNigeria that Saraki might have consulted the latter for direction on the way forward, just as IBB and many other past leaders have in the recent past become very critical on the current administration’s lack of direction in handling both economic, political and social issues bedeviling the country.

Meanwhile, in recent times, former Military President Ibrahim Babangida has continued to urge politicians to play by the rule of the game in ensuring the protection of national security, national cohesion and democratic values for national interest.

It would be recalled too that IBB overthrew the Buhari military administration in 1984.

In another development, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, have said that Tuesday’s siege on the National Assembly was an act of cowardice by those seeking to illegally impeach them and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. Saraki who praises Osinbajo for the sack of DSS DG, also vowed not to resign his position because he was elected Senate President by majority of senators.
