The SS3 Students of Lagos State public schools have not been able to have access to their result. two weeks Two weeks after the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) released results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.

A parent, Mrs Kehinde Obasola, whose child attends a government secondary school, State Senior High School, Agege, disclosed that she has not been able to check the result of her ward on WAEC’s website (www.waecdirect.org).

“When I checked online, I saw ‘not yet released’ after typing in my niece’s details. She told me they said the result would be released next month,” Mrs Obasola said.

According to The Nation, it was discovered that the non-release of the results of students in Public schools in the state is not unconnected to the fact that the government have not been able to complete the payment of the certificate examination. This is according to worker in the Lagos State Ministry of Education who wants to remain anonymous because she has not been authorized to speak on the issue.

“Some public school students have not seen their results because the process to pay the money was incomplete. But they are working on it,” the source said.

Efforts to contact Mrs Bunmi Adekanye, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education by The Nation’s reporter proved abortive as she neither returned her text massages or calls.

However, the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Mr Demianus Ojijeogu, said the result had been released.
