Geography and Borders

Delta State is bordered by Edo State to the north, Anambra and Rivers States to the east, and Bayelsa State to the south. To its west lies the Bight of Benin, featuring approximately 160 kilometers of coastline.

Governance: From 1991 to Date

Created from the former Bendel State, Delta has been governed by:

  • Luke Chijiuba Ochulor (1991–1992): The first Military Administrator.
  • Felix Ibru (1992–1993): The first Executive Governor of the state.
