Arrested ‘Notorious Bandit’ Reveals Who He Works For (Video)
An alleged bandit kingpin arrested in a forest in Delta State, Abubakar Usman, has claimed that he and other members of his gang rear cattle for an unnamed Alhaji based in Abuja.
Usman was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad in collaboration with SafeCity Security Service during an operation at his alleged hideout in the Ogwashi-Uku/Adonta Forest.
The suspect was apprehended following an exchange of gunfire between security operatives and suspected kidnappers.
The operation followed the abduction of Mrs Blessing Chiedu, a native of Umunede Kingdom, who was kidnapped on July 2, 2026, along the Ani-Ifekide Farm Road in Ubulu-Uku.
Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who confirmed the incident in a statement posted on 𝕏, alleged that the kidnappers demanded a ₦100 million ransom from the victim’s family.
A video circulating on social media showed Gwamnishu questioning the suspect following his arrest.
During the interview, Usman claimed that he travelled from Niger State, his state of origin, to Delta State, where he met two other alleged gang members.
The suspect alleged that the three-man group operated with a pump-action gun and received about ₦5 million in ransom from one of their victims.
“We are three in number. I’m from Niger State. We were using a pump-action gun,” he said.
Usman further claimed that the gang worked for an unnamed man based in Abuja, although he said he did not know the man’s exact address.
“The Alhaji we are working for is in Abuja, but I don’t know exactly where he lives,” the suspect said.
He also claimed that members of the group rear cattle belonging to the unnamed individual.
