President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has described as fake claims that the Nigeria Police ordered the arrest of Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau.

According to Bashir in a post on his Twitter account on Tuesday, November 10, any report claiming that the actress is been sentenced to death should be disregarded, stating that it is fake.

He tweeted; “I don’t see any good intention in spreading the fake news about Rahama Sadau, I have said it before and I am saying it now, @PoliceNG didn’t arrest Rahama or anyone else. Any news about her arrest or her being sentenced to death should be regarded as fake news and incitement.”

Meanwhile, a human rights activist, Alhaji Lawal Mohammed Gusau had written a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, noting that Rahama’s actions which were considered unacceptable in the Islam practice could lead to violence as Muslim clerics and youths are already threatening to take action against her.

Gusau also urged the inspector general to consider that Nigeria should not be further embroiled in a crisis as it seeks to recover from the unrest caused by ENDSARS.

Naija News understands also that the IGP had addressed a letter to the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, instructing him to ensure that the saga surrounding a recent outfit by the Kannywood actress is not allowed to degenerate into a security issue.
