IGP deploys 5 mobile police units to prevent further Farmer-Herdsmen clash in Adamawa

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, disclosed over the weekend that the police would deploy five mobile police units to Adamawa to put a stop to clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the state.

Idris made the disclosure in Yola on Saturday, when he paid a courtesy call on Gov. Mohammed Bindow to sympathize with him and the people of the state.

Naija News recalls that no fewer than 20 persons were feared killed and several others wounded, sequel to a clash involving farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The fight occurred last Monday night as a result of the killing of a farmer allegedly by Fulani herdsmen. The farmer’s death resulted in a revenge  attack by the farming communities of Shaforon, Kodomti and Kikan all in Numan local government area of the state.
