Traditional Rulers In Katsina Are The Primary Sponsors Of Bandits Attacks” – Presidency

The Federal Government has berated some traditional rulers in Katsina state for allegedly sponsoring bandits and herdsmen attacks within its community in the northern region.

Naija News recalls that over forty individuals were killed last week by some bandits during an attack on Kadisau village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

However, Speaking on why the attacks by Bandits persisted in the northern region the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu revealed how some native traditional rulers were using bandit and herdsmen to inflict pain on their people.

Mr Shehu also sited examples of emirs and district heads in Zamfara state who were removed as traditional leaders for collaboration with the bandits to harm their own people.

In neighbouring Zamfara, emirs and district heads, quite a number of them have been swept out of office. The thing is there are beneficiaries of whatever rotten system you have,” the presidential aide was quoted to have said.

He added, “At some point, the Nigerian Air Force had to put a number of aircraft in Katsina, they are still there. In the early part of that operation attacking Zamfara which then was the epicentre.
