Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

Some suspected gunmen have killed two people in Bagwai town in Kano State, the incident was confirmed by Kano State Police Command on Tuesday.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident during an interview with NAN noted that the gunmen attacked some shops and shot three persons on Monday night.

Haruna further stated that two of the victims died after they were rushed to Bichi General Hospital.

“The gunmen shot sporadically with bullets hitting three persons. Two of them later died at Bichi General Hospital.”

“The remaining one is still receiving medical attention at the hospital,” the command’s spokesman said.

He noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Habu Ahmad-Sani, had ordered the deployment of personnel from the “Operation Puff-adder” team, to investigate and arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Haruna added that security had been beefed up in the area to prevent future reoccurrence.
