A chiropractor, Dr Onuoha Okeigwe, has accused social media personality, Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, of collecting ₦69.15 million from him after falsely claiming to own a property.

Okeigwe made the claim on Monday at the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, while being cross-examined by the defence lawyer in the ongoing trial of the influencer before Justice Rahman Oshodi.

He is the first witness called by the prosecution.

Okeigwe told the court that he made the payment after the defendant convinced him, through WhatsApp messages and face-to-face meetings, that the property belonged to her.

“Blessing presented herself, claiming to be the owner of the property, and falsely collected money from me. She impersonated the owner of the property,” the witness said.

He added that their exchanges continued even after he had paid for the property.

Under cross-examination on the transaction papers, the witness said he could not interpret legal language because he was a chiropractor, not a lawyer.

He nonetheless insisted he had supplied the court with evidence proving the defendant misrepresented herself.

The witness rejected defence counsel’s suggestion that Exhibit C was the only document he tendered, saying he also submitted Corporate Affairs Commission records and other materials.

He further stated that the defendant’s claims of ownership were not limited to their WhatsApp conversations.

Okeigwe revealed that he had also dragged the influencer before a civil court to recover over ₦100 million he spent renovating the building to suit a medical facility he intended to open there.

He explained that the criminal case was about the ₦69.15 million paid for the property, while the civil action was to recover the renovation costs and damages.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, had on June 9, 2026, arraigned Blessing CEO on two counts of obtaining by false pretence and stealing to the tune of ₦69,150,000.

She denied the charges. The judge adjourned the matter until January 12, 2027, for the prosecution to present more witnesses.
