Chukwueze To Stay At AC Milan As Amorim Ends Transfer Speculation

AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim has ruled out the possibility of Samuel Chukwueze leaving the club this summer, confirming the Nigeria international will be part of his plans for the 2026/27 campaign.

The winger spent last season on loan at Premier League side Fulham, registering three goals and four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Fulham chose not to trigger a permanent move after Milan refused to lower their €24 million asking price for the 27-year-old.

Recent reports had linked Chukwueze with a switch to Turkey, but Amorim insists the former Villarreal star remains firmly in his squad ahead of the new season.

“Chukwu is staying with us. We need players who can play one-on-one, literally. Saelemaekers can play on the left or right. Cissé and Comotto will start preseason with us, but after that I really have no idea what will happen,” Amorim was quoted by eventi.news via CompleteSports.

“But it doesn’t matter where the players come from: if they play well, if they absorb the coaching, and if they have the right qualities to fill that gap, then we’ll find a place within the team.

“Before we look outside, let’s take a good look inside. Then at the end of preseason we’ll see what’s happened, paying close attention to the budget. I think Chukwueze has truly great qualities to be in our team, and he gives us options to play in other systems.”

Chukwueze joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in 2023 and is now set for another opportunity to establish himself at the San Siro under Amorim.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian forward, Tolu Arokodare, is edging closer to a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

The 25-year-old is set to join Trabzonspor on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Turkish outlet Takagazete reporting that negotiations between both clubs are entering the final phase.

Wolves are understood to want Trabzonspor to cover Arokodare’s full annual salary of €3.7 million before approving the deal.

Trabzonspor have intensified their search for a striker after Felipe Augusto completed his move to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg. The Turkish club are also preparing for the possible departure of Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu, who has attracted strong interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli after finishing last season as the Turkish Super Lig’s joint-top scorer.

If the remaining details are settled, Arokodare is expected to travel to Turkey on Monday to complete the transfer.

The striker joined Wolves from Belgian side KRC Genk last summer and scored three goals while providing one assist in 33 Premier League appearances during his first season at Molineux.
