Brentford Sign Jaidon Anthony From Burnley
Brentford have completed the signing of winger Jaidon Anthony from Burnley on a four-year contract, with the Premier League club holding the option to extend the deal by a further year.
Jaidon Anthony, 26, moves to the Gtech Community Stadium in a transfer worth an initial £15 million, with the fee potentially rising to £17 million through performance-related add-ons.
Anthony arrived after scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions last season, although he was unable to help Burnley avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The move sees the London-born forward return closer to home after beginning his career in Arsenal’s academy before leaving in 2016 without making a senior appearance.
He later established himself at Bournemouth following loan spells at Weymouth and Leeds United, before joining Burnley on loan in 2024. The switch became permanent last summer after the Clarets secured promotion, activating an £8 million obligation-to-buy clause.
Brentford head coach Keith Andrews believes Anthony has the qualities to strengthen his squad and thrive at the club.
“We’ve been aware of Jaidon’s journey for a long, long time and have always admired him from afar,” said Andrews.
“He did really well last season, which is difficult in a team that got relegated.
“After meeting him, it became very evident that he’d fit into the culture of the club and add to the squad.
“He still has so much more room for growth and improvement, and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
Anthony becomes Brentford’s second major signing of the summer after the arrival of defender Jannik Schuster from RB Salzburg in a deal worth up to £16 million, including add-ons.
The Bees narrowly missed out on European qualification after finishing ninth on goal difference last season and will begin their new Premier League campaign against Tottenham.
Burnley, meanwhile, return to the Championship following their relegation and will open their league season at home to West Ham on 16 August.
