Adelabu Family Speaks On Rescue Of Sister, Twins Sons
The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has said the successful rescue of Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, highlights the importance of national unity and cooperation in tackling insecurity.
Naija News reports that Mrs John-Paul and her children were recently abducted before being rescued by security operatives.
In a statement issued by Adelabu’s media aide, Femi Awogboro, the family thanked God, security agencies and Nigerians who supported efforts that led to the victims’ safe return.
The family said the victims were rescued safely and were in good condition.
“We are delighted to announce that the victims have been rescued safely and are in good condition,” the statement said.
According to the family, the rescue showed the value of collective action, commitment and collaboration in addressing security challenges.
The family commended President Bola Tinubu for his concern and commitment to the security and welfare of Nigerians.
It also acknowledged the support of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, during the period of the victims’ captivity.
Special appreciation was extended to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command and the Commissioner of Police in the state.
The family also praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for its role in the rescue operation.
It said intelligence-led operations by DSS officers at the national headquarters in Abuja and the Oyo State Directorate contributed significantly to the victims’ release.
The family called for greater national cooperation in the fight against insecurity.
The statement said, “This experience has once again demonstrated that insecurity is a challenge that transcends partisan politics, ethnic affiliations, religious differences and social status.
“It requires collective vigilance, cooperation and collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders and citizens.”
Family Prays For Other Victims
The family said sustained support for security agencies and collaboration among stakeholders remained essential to improving security across the country.
“Together, we can build a nation where every citizen feels safe, protected and free to pursue legitimate aspirations without fear,” the statement added.
While celebrating the rescue, the family expressed concern for other kidnap victims still in captivity.
“Our thoughts and prayers remain with other victims of kidnapping and their families who are still enduring the pain and uncertainty of captivity,” the statement said.
The family urged Nigerians to remain united against criminality and continue supporting lawful efforts to protect lives and property nationwide.
