Igoh Ogbu Targets Czech League Glory With Slavia Prague After Injury Return

Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Igoh Ogbu has set his sights on helping Slavia Prague secure the Czech league title this season after making his return from injury.

Igoh Ogbu, who recently rejoined the squad after a spell on the sidelines, spoke of his determination to contribute as the title race intensified.

Slavia Prague currently sits at the top of the table with 58 points, seven clear of city rivals Sparta Prague, who have 51 points after 24 matches.

Ogbu said he was relieved to be back on the pitch and eager to play his part in the club’s push for silverware.

“Sometimes when it comes to injuries, it is something you cannot stop. You can only focus on prevention, but for me, I am happy to be back,” the defender said.

“Injury is not a place any player wants to be. For me, it is a thing of joy to rejoin the team, to be playing football again with the boys and to feel the moment of football again.”

The 25-year-old also praised his teammates for maintaining strong form during his absence and said he is ready to work hard to help the club finish the job.

“It makes me happy to come back to the team. They have been doing very well while I was away and I am proud of them. Joining them again is good, and now I have to work hard to help the team win things together,” he said.

“Coming back, I want to do my best, help the team in every way I can, continue to grow, and deliver for our fans so that at the end of the day we lift the trophy. That is what I stand for.”
