Vincent Kompany Rates Ronaldinho Ahead Of Messi, Ronaldo

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has revealed that former Barcelona star Ronaldinho is the toughest player he ever faced during his professional career.

The Belgian, who enjoyed a distinguished spell in the Premier League and on the international stage, made the admission while reflecting on the most challenging opponents of his playing days. Surprisingly, he chose Ronaldinho ahead of modern greats Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Kompany spoke candidly about the Brazilian’s impact in a particular match that has stayed with him over the years.

“There were many, but there was one who impressed me more than any other. It was Ronaldinho, do you know him?” Kompany said via MARCA when asked about the toughest player he ever faced.

The former Manchester City captain acknowledged the sustained brilliance of Messi and Ronaldo, widely regarded as the finest players of their generation. However, he suggested that what he witnessed from Ronaldinho on that occasion set the Brazilian apart in his mind.

“Of course, Messi and Ronaldo are incredibly good; they are probably the best players, but from what I saw in one game, it was Ronaldinho,” the Belgian tactician said.
