Ronaldo Not As Talented As Messi, Maradona, Ronaldo Nazario – Ex-Madrid Boss Capello

Former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello, has said Cristiano Ronaldo does not possess the same level of natural talent as Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario.

Capello made the remark while speaking on Egyptian television channel ON Sport’s Hat-trick show, where he reflected on the qualities that distinguish some of football’s greatest players.

The Portuguese forward is widely regarded as one of the best footballers of all time, with many supporters even considering him the greatest due to his achievements and longevity in the game.

The retired Italian tactician said although Ronaldo remains a phenomenal goal scorer and athlete, he lacks the innate brilliance that defined Messi, Maradona, and Ronaldo Nazario.

“Cristiano is a top goal-scorer and a fantastic athlete, but he doesn’t have the special talent of Messi, Maradona, or Ronaldo Nazario,” Capello said.

“The cleverness that the others had is missing in Cristiano. He can’t be compared to those three.”

Capello, who retired from coaching in 2018 after a decorated managerial career, worked directly with Ronaldo Nazario during his time at Real Madrid.

He also recalled attempting to sign a teenage Messi for Juventus after the Argentine impressed him during a friendly appearance for Barcelona.

Naija News reports that the veteran coach’s comments add another dimension to the long-standing debate over football’s greatest player, often centred around Ronaldo and Messi.

Despite the criticism, Ronaldo has repeatedly declared himself the greatest footballer in history in several interviews.

Now 41, the Portugal international remains active and continues to chase records.

He is currently just 39 goals away from becoming the first player to score 1,000 official career goals, a milestone that could further cement his legacy in world football.
