Salah Open To Saudi Arabia Move As Agent Holds Talks With Al Ittihad

Fresh transfer speculation has emerged around Mohamed Salah, with reports indicating that his representatives are in active discussions with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

French outlet Footmercato, through journalist Santi Aouna, claims Salah’s agent is negotiating with the Saudi club, and the Liverpool forward is now more willing to consider a move to the Middle East than in previous years.

Saudi Arabia has tracked Salah for several seasons, but the Egyptian star had previously resisted interest, choosing to remain at Liverpool during his peak years. Until last season, he was regarded as a central figure at Anfield and committed his future to the club by extending his contract after the 2024-2025 season.

That situation appears to have shifted following a challenging campaign for both player and club. Liverpool endured an underwhelming season, while Salah’s form reportedly dipped, prompting public frustration when he expressed disappointment about being left out of the starting line-up. That episode intensified rumours about a possible departure.

Although the Africa Cup of Nations briefly shifted attention away from transfer matters, recent developments suggest the idea of a move has not disappeared. Unlike last year, Salah is now believed to be more open to exploring a new chapter in Saudi Arabia.

A deal could appeal to all sides. Liverpool would benefit financially from a significant transfer fee, while Salah would have greater control over the next phase of his career.

Al Ittihad, meanwhile, are eager to rebuild after losing Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté in the winter transfer window. With Fabinho’s contract due to expire next June and Moussa Diaby linked with a potential move to Inter Milan, the club is under pressure to reinforce its squad.
