Haaland, Salah Named Among UK’s Biggest Taxpayers
Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah have been ranked among the United Kingdom’s 100 biggest taxpayers, according to the latest Sunday Times Tax List.
Haaland, who earns an estimated £500,000 per week, reportedly pockets around £10 million annually in performance-related bonuses. The 25-year-old Norway international currently sits 72nd on the list and is said to contribute £16.9 million in tax each year.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah also features prominently, ranked 81st. The Egyptian forward earns roughly £400,000 per week at Anfield and receives about £10 million per year in bonuses. The 33-year-old is reported to pay £14.5 million in UK taxes annually.
The top of the list is dominated by business figures, with Fred and Peter Done and their family leading after paying £400.1 million in tax through their gambling ventures.
They are followed by financial trader Alex Gerko at £331.4 million, hedge fund manager Chris Rokos at £330 million, Stephen Rubin and family in sportswear at £325.6 million, and Denise, John and Peter Coates at £227.1 million.
Meanwhile, Arsenal left back Oleksandr Zinchenko is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Ajax after undergoing a medical with the Dutch club.
Sky Sports News reports that the Ukraine international travelled to Amsterdam on Friday after receiving clearance to proceed with the transfer.
Zinchenko has agreed to a six-month contract with the Eredivisie giants, with discussions over his long-term future expected to take place in the summer.
The 29-year-old joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 but spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest. He is now preparing to leave English football for a fresh chapter in the Netherlands.
