#ImoDecides: PDP Accuses APC Of Abducting Priests In Imo State

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of abducting some priests in Imo State.

The PDP in a statement on Saturday morning via the party’s official account on the X platform alleged that the priests were abducted on Friday night in relation to Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The PDP which described the action as sacrilegious and an attempt by the APC to suppress voters, called for the immediate release of the priests.

“@OfficialPDPNig demands the immediate and unconditional release of priests reportedly abducted by the APC in Owerri Imo State, last night, apparently in the bid to suppress the Church and the people of Imo State in today’s Governorship election in the State.

“This action by the APC is sacrilegious, blasphemous and an affront to the Almighty God which cannot be justified under any guise. The @OfficialAPCNg must release the priests immediately and seek restitution,” the statement reads.

There Is Plot To Make BVAS Malfunction, Rig Election – Achonu Raises Alarm

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu, has claimed that there is a plot to make the BVAS machines malfunction in some polling units and rig the election.

Achonu made the allegations through the Director of Media and Publicity of his Campaign Organisation, Chibuikem Diala, while addressing journalists on Friday in Owerri, the state capital.

He asserted that the purpose was either to produce a falsified result or to disrupt the voting process in some crucial areas where the riggers lacked a strong presence.

Achonu called on the Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) to halt the alleged changing of BVAS passwords by the Registration Area Technical Support in order not to compromise the election process.
