Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes believes all hope is not lost for his team in the 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League campaign even though they are currently bottom of Group A.

Bruno Fernandes and his United teammates are currently the worst team in Group A in which they have recorded three defeats and just one win in 4 games.

Naturally, United and Bayern Munich were expected to occupy the first and second spots, respectively, in Group A at this stage of the campaign.

Fortunately for Bayern, they have sealed their place to the next round of the campaign with two games in hand as expected. But United are just a game away from ending their Champions League campaign in the group stage.

However, Bruno Fernandes who scored from the spot in United’s stunning 4-3 defeat at the hands of Copenhagen on Wednesday, November 8, stressed that all hope is not lost for the Red Devils yet.

Fernandes said: “We have a mountain to climb — so we must climb. All together”.

“We have two games, and we have to win those two games”.

Can Manchester United qualify from Group A?

Manchester United have the slimmest chance to join Bayern Munich as the two teams that will qualify from Group A at this point.

As mentioned earlier, Bayern Munich have already qualified after four wins in four games. Copenhagen are second with 4 points in four games after one win, one draw, and two defeat. Galatasaray are sitting in third place with 4 points in four games after one win, one draw, and two defeats.

Based on this, Manchester United who have three points in four games, need to win their last two group stage games to seal their place in the next round as Bruno Fernandes stated above.

But can they beat Galatasaray at RAMS Park in Turkey on November 29 or even get a point against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford on December 12?

Well, United could step up to beat the Turkish club but beating Bayern Munich at Old Trafford looks almost impossible based on their form so far in this season’s Champions League campaign. Hence, United are not likely to qualify from Group A.
